The agent

Expert Witness

Built for plaintiff firms that share an expert list across a group. Three capabilities, each one a procedure your firm owns and versions — not a prompt you have to re-steer every time.

Shared with a plaintiff group · registration-check v2 applied on every run

Capabilities

These are not feature names. Each one is a numbered standard operating procedure with an owner, a version and a run count — the same steps, in the same order, every time.

Find an expert

Build a sourced profile of an expert witness so an attorney can decide whether to retain or challenge them.

  1. 1Confirm the name, field and jurisdiction before searching.
  2. 2Pull court orders and opinions that name the expert, quoting holdings as filed.
  3. 3Add assessments from your group members, attributed to their author.
  4. 4Rank findings by relevance — each one keeping its source color and citation.

Prepare a cross

Turn an expert’s prior testimony into a cross-examination outline with cite-ready references.

  1. 1Collect the expert’s depositions from your uploads and the public record.
  2. 2Compare statements across cases on the same topic and flag contradictions.
  3. 3Group questions by theme, each citing page and line.
  4. 4Mark the outline as a draft for attorney review before use.

Draft a challenge

Work from your firm’s procedure, against the documents on file, with the registration check applied.

  1. 1Review the expert’s qualifications.
  2. 2Check their admissibility history.
  3. 3Draft the challenge against what is on file.

Where a finding comes from

An expert profile draws on things of very different weight. A filed holding is not the same kind of fact as another firm’s opinion, so the agent never flattens them into one answer.

  • Public record

Court orders and opinions that name the expert.

Holdings are quoted as filed, with the court and the date.

Quoted holding · [COURT] · [DATE]

  • Your transcripts

Depositions, CVs and prior reports your firm uploaded.

Cite-ready down to the page and line. Visible only to your firm.

    [CASE] — Dep. 142:3-18

  • Member assessments

What other firms in your group wrote about this expert.

Attributed to the member who wrote it. An opinion, not a platform finding.

    Attributed to [AUTHOR] · [DATE]

Guardrails

Guardrails are written into the procedure, versioned with it, and visible to your admin. They are the part of the SOP that says when to stop.

  • Never merge public record, firm transcripts and member assessments into one unsourced answer.
  • Member assessments are labeled as opinions, not platform findings.
  • Stop and report if the expert cannot be identified with confidence.

Your documents

CVs, prior reports and deposition transcripts. PDF, Word or scanned images. They stay in your firm’s workspace and come back as your transcripts — the cite-ready tier, visible only to your firm.

See it on your own documents

What happens to an upload

  1. 1ReceivedFiled against an expert and a document type.
  2. 2Reading pagesRead end to end, not sampled.
  3. 3Ready to citeQuotable down to page and line.

Uploads are visible only to your firm. Sharing into a group is a separate, scoped decision.

Governance

A shared expert list is the reason this agent is worth having, and the thing most likely to go wrong. So the line gets drawn before anyone runs anything: the list and the assessments belong to the group, the documents behind them stay with your firm.

In a group

Shared:
expert list, member assessments
Private:
your uploads, your transcripts
Groups that share on purpose
Firms join a group and agree what crosses the line. The expert list and member assessments are shared; your uploads and transcripts stay yours.
Every run on the ledger
Admins see each run, who started it, which procedure version it used and what it cost — runs and document reading itemized separately.
Costs before the invoice
Spend sits on the agent overview, not in a monthly surprise. Billing is per organization, broken out by the work that caused it.
Sign-in built for firms
Work email and password, then a one-time code to the phone on file. Users, roles and procedures are managed by your admin, not by whoever asks.
